[T-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia 1] This tissue-specific basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor has been identified by Finger et al (1989) as a transcriptional unit designated TCL5 [T-cell leukemia/lymphoma 5] at the site of a chromosomal translocation in a lymphohemopoietic stem cell line derived from a patient with acute T-lymphoblastic leukemia.
