[TNF receptor-like-2] This protein has been identified by Kwon et al (1997). TR2 mRNA is expressed in multiple human tissues and cell lines and shows a constitutive and relatively high expression in peripheral blood T-cells, B-cells, and monocytes (Kwon et al, 1997, Tan et al, 1997).
The gene encoding this protein is identical with HVEM. Owing to its homology to other members of the TNF receptor superfamily the designation TNFRSF14 [TNF receptor superfamily member 14] is used also.
In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD270. For additional information on
