[T lineage-specific activation antigen 1] This antigen has been identified by Burns et al (1985) by means of a monoclonal antibody, LeoA1, raised against activated human T-cells generated in mixed lymphocyte culture. The antigen is expressed strongly on T-cells after stimulation with phytohemagglutinin. It is absent from a number of human T-cells, B-cells, myeloid cells, fibroblasts, and tumor cell lines, but present on IL2 dependent gibbon cell line MLA-144. The antigen is involved in the differentiation of cytotoxic T-cells
