[signal regulatory protein-beta-2] In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD172B.
This protein has been identified by Ichigotani et al (2000). The approved gene symbol is SIRPG [signal regulatory protein-gamma].
Brooke et al (2004) have suggested that this gene be termed SIRP-gamma. They have shown that the proteins binds CD47, but with a lower affinity compared with SIRP-alpha.
