[small inducible cytokine A2] This gene is identical with the JE gene encoding MCP-1 (Monocyte chemotactic protein-1). It belongs to a family of cytokines known as Chemokines (subgroup of CC-Chemokines). The factor is the same as GDCF, HC11, LDCF, MCAF, MCP, SMC-CF, TDCF, TSG-8. The approved gene symbol is CCL2.
