GDCF

[Glioma cell-derived monocyte chemotactic factor] This factor is produced by human glioma cells (Kuratsu et al, 1989). It is a chemoattractant for monocytes (see also: Chemotaxis). An identical monocyte chemotactic activity (MCA) is found also in the culture fluid of PHA-stimulated human mononuclear leukocytes (Yoshimura et al, 1989).

GDCF is encoded by the human homolog of the JE gene and therefore belongs to the family of chemotactic cytokines known as Chemokines (subgroup of CC-Chemokines).
