approved gene symbol: RC3H2 [RING finger and CCCH-type domains 2; RING finger and C3H zinc finger protein 2]. The protein is being referred to also as RNF194 [RING finger protein 194] and has been described independently as a 150 kDa membrane-associated protein termed MNAB [membrane associated DNA binding protein] (Siess et al, 2000).
Roquin-2 is an RNA binding protein very similar to Roquin. It is involved in mRNA decay through its ROQ domain (Pratama et al, 2013), also binds RNA duplexes (Schuetz A et al, 2014; Zhang et al, 2015), and can take over some functions of Roquin
