[protein transduction domain-5] The PTD-5 peptide, RRQRRTSKLMKRGG (Arg-Arg-Gln-Arg-Arg-Thr-Ser-Lys-Leu-Met-Lys-Arg-Gly-Gly), has been identified by Mi et al (2000). Coupling of this peptide to a cargo moiety facilitates uptake in a wide variety of cell lines and primary cells, including islet beta-cells, synovial cells, polarized airway epithelial cells, dendritic cells, myoblasts, and tumor cells (see also: cell-penetrating peptides).
