The monoclonal antibody of this name recognizes the rat counterpart of the cell surface antigen CD11b and CD11c.
Monoclonal antibody OX42 has been described by Robinson et al (1986). The antibody is expressed on rat tissue macrophages and also reacts with granulocytes and dendritic cells. OX42 immunoprecipitates three polypeptides with molecular weights of 160,000, 103,000 and 95,000. The Fab fragment of OX42 inhibits complement-mediated rosette formation between sensitized erythrocytes and rat macrophages and granulocytes.
