[neural and thymus-derived activator for ErbB kinases] This protein is a member of the EGF family that exhibits limited structural homology to neuregulins. The protein is known also as neuregulin-2 (NRG2) or Don-1 [divergent of neuregulin 1].
Nine alternatively spliced isoforms have been detected (Chang et al, 1997; Busfield et al, 1997; Carraway et al, 1997). NTAK is expressed in the rat adrenal pheochromocytoma cell line, PC12.
