[natural cytotoxicity receptors] collective term for receptors expressed on the cell surface of NK-cells, the engagement of which induces a strong activation of NK-mediated cytolysis. Blocking of these receptors with monoclonal antibodies suppresses cytotoxicity against most NK-susceptible target cells. These receptors are represented by NKp46 (NCR1), NKp44 (NCR2) and NKp30 (NCR3).
