[new CC chemokine-4] This gene was identified originally as an expressed sequence tag and mapped to human chromosome 17q11.2 (Naruse et al, 1996). The factor is known also as SCYA16 (see also: SCY family of cytokines).
The factor has been renamed LEC [liver-expressed chemokine] by Shoudai et al (1998). It is identical with HCC4, LMC, Monotactin-1, and LCC-1. The approved gene symbol is CCL16.
