HCC4

[hemofiltrate CC-Chemokine-4] HCC4 is one of the CC-Chemokines most closely related to HCC1 (Hedrik et al, 1998). The factor shows chemotactic activity for monocytes. Expression of HCC4 is upregulated by IL10, which is in contrast to the downregulatory effects of IL10 on expression of most other chemokines. Recombinant HCC4 is chemotactic for human monocytes and THP-1 monocyte cells but not for resting lymphocytes or neutrophils. HCC4 also induces a calcium ion flux in THP-1 cells that is desensitized by prior exposure to RANTES.
