NAV3

[neuron navigator 3] NAV3 is one member of a family of related proteins (see: NAV1, NAV2) (Maes et al, 2002). In databanks the protein is being referred to also as Steerin-3. Coy et al (2002) have referred to NAV3 as POMFIL1 [Pore membrane and/or filament-interacting-like protein 1]. The cDNA has been identified independently as KIAA0938. The C-terminus shares significant homology with Unc53, a Caenorhabditis elegans protein involved in cell migration and the outgrowth of cellular processes such as axons (hence the designation UNC53H3 [Unc-53 homolog 3].
