(the acronym MOMA stands for monocytes and macrophages) This is the name of a monoclonal antibody generated by Kraal and Janse (1986). The MOMA-1 antigen is a widely-used marker for marginal metallophilic macrophages in spleen and some other subsets of macrophages. Oetke C et al (2006) have reported that the MOMA-1 antigen is identical with sialoadhesin.
In the nomenclature of CD antigens the protein has been given the designation CD169.
