Leukoregulin

abbr. LR, LRG. This glycoprotein of 50 kDa is secreted by NK-cells following cell activation and a 50 kDa product of activated T-cells (Ortaldo et al, 1986; Ransom et al, 1985). Leukoregulin shows tumor growth inhibitory activity (Merchant et al, 1986) and enhances membrane permeability and the uptake of cytotoxic drugs by tumors cells without affecting these processes in normal cells (Furbert-Garris et al, 1989; Sheehy et al, 1988).

In human skin fibroblasts leukoregulin selectively induces the synthesis of collagenase, upregulates stromelysin-1 gene expression, and induces the expression and secretion of IL8 ... ... ... ...
