LUCT

[lung carcinoma-derived chemotaxin] This factor of 10 kDa is found in the conditioned medium of the human lung giant cell carcinoma cell line LU65C. The same factor has been isolated from the conditioned medium of the human myeloid leukemia cell line ML-1 (see: CT/IL8).

LUCT is strongly related to 3-10C. It identical with IL8 and therefore belongs to the family of chemotactic cytokines known as Chemokines (see also: Chemotaxis). The new designation is CXCL8 and the factor is known also as SCYB8.
