LGI3

(approved gene symbol) [leucine-rich glioma inactivated 3] A databank synonym for this protein is LGIL4 [LGI1-like protein 4]. The LGI3 gene has been identified by Gu et al (2002), based on sequence similarity to LGI1 [leucine-rich glioma inactivated 1]. Expression is observed in brain (Gu et al, 2002; Lee et al, 2005, 2006) and lung (Gu et al, 2002).

Senechal et al (2005) have shown that LGI3 is expressed at low levels in most brain regions with high levels in the facial nerve nucleus. Upon transfection into 293T-cells, LGI3 is secreted.

Kimura et al (2007) have reported that amyloid-beta upregulates expression of LGI3 in astrocytes and may be involved in the astroglial response against ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
