[leukocyte-derived 7-transmembrane domain receptor] This receptor for CC-Chemokines has been isolated from a cDNA library prepared from human blood monocytes (Loetscher et al, 1994). The cDNA clone encodes a protein of 352 amino acids belonging to a receptor of the 7-transmembrane domain, GTP-binding protein-coupled type.
The receptor shows 92.6 % identity with a bovine neuropeptide Y receptor and is identical with another receptor termed Fusin. The receptor is now termed CXCR4. In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation
