LEDGF
[lens epithelium-derived growth factor] This factor of 60 kDa is encoded by a clone obtained from a human lens epithelial cell (LEC) cDNA library and was identified by means of an antibody from a cataract patient (Singh et al, 2000). LEDGF has been found to be expressed differentially in fetal and adult brain. The factor is expressed in neurons but not in astrocytes (Chylack et al, 2004). LEDGF has been identified independently as KW-7 [CLL-associated antigen KW-7].
LEDGF is identical with transcriptional coactivator p52/p75, a coactivator of transcription and pre-mRNA splicing (Ge et al, 1998), which is derived from the same human
