LD78
This factor was isolated initially from stimulated human tonsillar lymphocytes as a cDNA clone. The gene is called also GOS-19 (see also: GOS) and pAT464. The factor is known also as SCYA3, which encodes LD78-alpha. The approved gene symbol is CCL3.
Blum et al (1990) have shown that there are at least three different related nonallelic genes, designated LD78-alpha, LD78-beta (gene symbol SCYA3L1), and LD78-gamma (a pseudogene). LD78-alpha and LD78-beta differ from each other in three amino acids.
