[LAD1]
LAD1 cells [Laboratory of Allergic Disease 1 cells] and LAD2 cells [Laboratory of Allergic Disease 2 cells] are established slowly growing mast cell lines that express IgE receptors. Both cell lines are derived from the bone marrow of a patient with mast cell sarcoma/leukemia and a D816V mutation in the SCF receptor (kit). Both cell lines have a normal kit gene and are factor-dependent cell lines that require SCF for survival and proliferation (see also: Factor-dependent cell lines). They express intracytoplasmic histamine, tryptase and chymase.
