L-36, termed also L-36LBP, is a lectin from rat intestine with two carbohydrate binding domains. The lectin is expressed highly in full-length form in rat small and large intestine and stomach but is not detected in eight other tissues including lung, liver, kidney, and spleen. This lectin has been given the name Galectin-4.
