[juxtaglomerular cells] also juxtaglomerular neurons [JG neurons].
This collective term pertains to morphologically, functionally, and neurochemically distinct types of neurons found in glomeruli of the olfactory bulb. At least three populations of JG neurons have been described. They are being referred to as ET-cells [external tufted cells; see also: tufted cells], PG cells [periglomerular cells], and SA cells [short axon cells] (Pinching and Powell, 1971, 1971; Kosaka et al, 1998; Toida et al, 1998, 2000).
