JEG-3 cell factor

This factor is found in the conditioned medium of the chorion carcinoma cell line JEG-3. It is also the product of normal T-lymphocytes. It inhibits the antigen- and mitogen-stimulated proliferation of mononuclear cells. The factor contains a noncovalently linked subcomponent, lipid suppressor substance. The protein is probably identical with or closely related to SIF (suppressor cell induction factor).
