[interleukin-8nL] The gene encoding this protein has been isolated from a cDNA library prepared from a rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss] cell line derived from macrophages, stimulated with bacterial lipopolysaccharides. It is the same as a cDNA clone designated IL8X and represents one of several proteins homologous with mammalian IL8 in the fish (Fujiki K et al, 2003).
