[interleukin-13 receptor-alpha-1; IL13R-alpha-1] also simply or IL13RA. IL13RA1 is the approved gene symbol for a receptor for IL13. It has been identified independently as mouse NR4. In the nomenclature of CD antigens the receptor has been given the designation CD213a1.
The gene encoding human IL13RA1 has been cloned by Aman et al (1996) and Miloux et al (1997). The protein shows 74 % identity with murine IL13R-alpha. IL13RA1 is the primary binding subunit for IL13.
