Hepatocyte stimulating factor

abbr. HSF (a term with multiple meanings). This factor which is found in the conditioned medium of some hepatoma cell lines is identical with IL6. Stimulation of the proliferation of hepatocytes is used in bioassays for this factor. See also: HSF-1.
