HSF1
[heat shock factor 1; heat shock transcription factor 1]; abbr. also HSTF1. HSF1 is the best characterized member of a family of transcription factors (HSF2, HSF3, HSF4, HSFY) that control gene expression patterns during cellular, cytoprotective stress reactions known as the Heat shock response, which leads to the rapid expression of proteins known has heat shock proteins (Fujimoto and Nakai, 2010). The human HSF1 gene has been cloned by Rabindran et al (1991).
