[human platelet antigen-2] In the nomenclature for platelet antigens (Metcalfe et al, 2003) this is the designation for the platelet glycoprotein Glycocalicin, GPIb-alpha. In the nomenclature of CD antigens the proteins has been given the designation CD42b. HPA-2a [human platelet antigen-2a] (see: KO(b)) and HPA-2b [human platelet antigen-2b] (see: KO(a), Sib(a)) are alleles of the same protein.
