HIMF

[Hypoxia-induced mitogenic factor] HIMF has been identified as a hypoxia-inducible gene in a mouse chronic hypoxia model of pulmonary hypertension (Teng et al, 2003). Initially, the gene had been referred to as FIZZ1/RELM-alpha (identical with FIZZ-1, RELM-alpha) by the authors but was renamed subsequently. The approved gene symbol is Retnla [resistin-like alpha]. It has been identified independently as XCP2 [ten-cysteine protein 2]. A databank synonym is Pmng1 [Parasite-induced macrophage novel gene 1 protein].

The gene is expressed in the pulmonary vasculature, bronchial ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
