[human embryo kinase] The gene encoding this kinase expressed by human lymphoid tumor cell lines has been cloned by Wicks et al (1992). HEK is a member of a family of tyrosine kinases with a high degree of homology to EPH and ELK tyrosine kinases (Boyd et al, 1992).
