(GKHKNKGKKNGKHNGWK) This peptide is derived from the D5 region of kininogen (KNG1) (see also: Kininostatin). The peptide exerts potent antibacterial activities in radial diffusion assays against Escherichia coli. A truncated form termed KNK10 (KNKGKKNGKH), which is contained also in the 20-mer peptide HKH20, is also active.
