The term evasins (or immunoevasins) has been used in a more general sense for proteins that alter host immune responses and are instrumental for pathogen survival (Gewurz et al, 2001).
As a collective term this refers also to a number of chemokine binding proteins identified in the blood-feeding parasitic common brown dog tick, Rhipicephalus sanguineus. See: Evasin-1, Evasin-3, Evasin-4.
P1156 is a tick evasin from Ixodes ricinus binds CXCL1, CXCL2, CXCL3, CXCL5, CXCL6, CXCL8 (Alenazi Y et al, 2018).
