[Epithelial neutrophil-activating protein 78; epithelial cell-derived neutrophil attractant-78] This factor is produced by various human epithelial cell lines. It has a length of 78 amino acids. The sequence of ENA-78 shows a 53 % sequence identity with NAP-2 (neutrophil-activating protein-2) and GRO-alpha (see: MGSA). It shows 67 % identity with AMCF (alveolar macrophage chemotactic factor). The primary sequence of ENA-78 shows that it belongs to the family of chemotactic cytokines known as CXC-Chemokines. A characteristic feature of this factor is the presence of a conserved ELR sequence motif
