[EGF module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor; EGF-like module containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like-1]. The approved gene symbol is ADGRE1 [Adhesion G-protein-coupled receptor E1]. A databank synonym is TM7LN3.

EMR1 is the human ortholog of the cell surface antigen F4/80 (Baud et al, 1995). The transcriptional regulation of the EMR1 gene in murine macrophages and an enhancer element within the proximal promoter that is necessary for EMR expression in myeloid cells has been described by O'Reilly et al (2004).
