ECM1

[extracellular matrix protein 1] The human gene for this protein has been cloned by Smits et al (1997). This protein is known also as secretory component p85, identified by Mathieu et al (1994) as a protein secreted by a mouse osteogenic stromal cell line. The cDNA has been cloned Bhalerao et al (1995). ECM1 exists as a long form, termed ECM1a, and an alternatively spliced shorter form, termed ECM1b (Smits et al (2000)
