[E2-induced gene 4] E2IG4 is one of five genes expressed in estrogen-responsive breast cancer cells after exposure to estrogen (Charpentier et al, 2000). The encoded protein (353 amino acids) contains a leucine-rich repeat in the N terminus and 8 additional leucine-rich repeats and shows domain and structural homology to extracellular matrix leucine-rich proteoglycans such as decorin and biglycan. The protein is identical with tsukushi.
