Calmodulins are intracellular calcium-binding proteins consisting of at least two different peptide chains designated Calgranulin A (abbr. CAGA or CGLA) and Calgranulin B (abbr. CAGB or CGLB) (Wilkinson et al, 1988). These proteins are biochemically related to S100 and are being referred also as S100 calcium binding protein A8 (abbr.
