Calgranulins

Calmodulins are intracellular calcium-binding proteins consisting of at least two different peptide chains designated Calgranulin A (abbr. CAGA or CGLA) and Calgranulin B (abbr. CAGB or CGLB) (Wilkinson et al, 1988). These proteins are biochemically related to S100 and are being referred also as S100 calcium binding protein A8 (abbr. S100A8) and S100 calcium binding protein A9 (abbr. S100A9), respectively. The genes for CAGA and CAGB map to human chromosome 1q12-q21. For ... ... ... ... ...
