CMH-1

[CPP32 MCH2 homolog-1] CMH-1 is a member of the IL1-beta Convertase family of proteases. CMH-1 is related to CPP32 (52 % amino acid identity) and MCH2 (31 % identity). Overexpression of CMH-1 in COS cells results in the processing of CMH-1 and the induction of apoptosis. CMH-1 cleaves the death substrate PARP1 [poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1]. CMH-1 does not appear to cleave the proform of IL1-beta to generate mature IL1-beta.DEVD-CHO has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of CMH-1 with a Ki value of 35 nM.

CMH-1 is known now as Caspase-7.
