[CLEC9A(+), CLEC9A(-)]
(approved gene symbol) [C-type lectin domain family 9 member A] In the nomenclature of CD antigens the protein has been given the designation CD370. CLEC9A has been identified independently as DNGR-1 [dendritic cell natural killer lectin group receptor 1] (Sancho et al, 2008). The human gene has been cloned by Huysamen et al, 2008) who reported that CLEC9A acts as an activating receptor that promotes endocytosis but not phagocytosis.
CLEC9A is expressed at high levels by CD8a(+) CD103(+) CD11b(-) conventional dendritic cells and at lower levels by plasmacytoid dendritic cells
