[CD2R(+), CD2R(-)]
This epitope is known also as T11-3 antigen. CD2R is an epitope of CD2 the expression of which has been reported to be restricted to T-cells after cell activation, whereas it is absent from resting T-cells (Bernard et al, 1982). Warren et al (1988) have reported, however, that this epitope is expressed on peripheral blood mononuclear cells, resting T-cells and activated T-cells. Fournel et al (1998) have reported that a noncomitogenic CD2R monoclonal antibody induces cell death by apoptosis of activated T-cells by a pathway involving CD95 and its ligand.
