[Cambridge pathology 1 antigen] The rat monoclonal antibody of this name has been generated by Hale et al (1983), who used it for depleting lymphocytes from human marrow grafts (Hale et al, 1983). CAMPATH-1 antigen recognized by the antibody is a small GPI-anchored cell surface glycopeptide (Hale et al, 1990; Treumann et al, 1995) is produced by lymphocytes (Xia et al, 1991) and the male genital tract, mainly the distal epididymis and the deferent duct (Hale G et al, 1993; Kirchhoff, 1996).
CAMPATH-1G is a rat IgG2b antibody of the same specificity as CAMPATH-1 that is able to both fix human complement and opsonize lymphocytes in vivo (Dyer et al, 1989). CAMPATH-1M
