Biliary glycoprotein D

this is an older designation for murine BGP-1 [biliary glycoprotein 1]; see: BGP [biliary glycoprotein]. The protein is identical with CEACAM1 [CEA-related cell adhesion molecule 1]. In the nomenclature of CD antigens the protein has been given the designation CD66a. See: CD66. The protein acts as a receptor for mouse hepatitis virus (see: MHVR1 [Murine hepatitis virus receptor-1].

According to Beauchemin et al (1999) this is a splice variant of CEACAM1, termed CEACAM1-3S.
