The BL14 monoclonal antibody recognizes a determinant on human B-cells. The antibody does not react with red cells, platelets, granulocytes, monocytes or T-cells. The BL14 antigen is present on most of the circulating and tissue B-cells. BL14 antibody binds to nearly all malignant B-cell proliferations except for very immature and plasmacytoma cells (Brochier et al, 1984).
In the nomenclature of CD antigens, the antigen recognized by BL14 has been given the designation CD37.
