This antigen is expressed on mature B-cells, mature T-cells, and myeloid cells.

Schröder et al (2013) have reported that CD37 interacts with the metalloproteinase MMP-14, which affects the subcellular localization and function of MMP-14 and may control MMP-14-dependent proteolysis at the cell surface.
