[B220(+), B220(-), B220(high), B220(low)]
The name B220 has been proposed by Coffman and Weissman (1981) for the 220 kDa variant of the T200 glycoprotein, which is a major cell surface glycoprotein on lymphoid cells and encodes PTPRC [protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type C].
B220 is recognized specifically by monoclonal antibody RA3-3A1 and is expressed only on B-cells and a subset of bone marrow cells that includes B-cell precursors. The B220 antigen is one of the molecular forms of CD45 and corresponds to CD45RB.
