[Apolipoprotein E receptor 2] The approved gene symbol for this receptor is LRP8 [low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 8; LDL receptor-related protein 8]. The cDNA and the gene have been cloned by Kim et al (1996, 1997).

This receptor is one of several receptors for Apolipoprotein E. White-Adams et al (2009) have reported that coagulation factor XI is a ligand for APOER2 on platelets.

Trommsdorff et al (1999) and Hiesberger et al (1999) have shown that APOER2 is one of the receptors for Reelin, a protein required for correct neuronal positioning of neurons in the developing brain (the other receptor being VLDLR ... ... ... ...
