[a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain 10; ADAM metallopeptidase domain 10] This protein is known also as MADM [mammalian disintegrin metalloprotease] isolated from bovine sources (Howard et al, 1996). It is a member of the ADAM protein family and, like other members, exists in a transmembrane form. In the nomenclature of CD antigens the protein has received the designation CD156c (formerly CDw156c). The Drosophila melanogaster homolog of this protease is kuzbanian. The protease is being referred to also as Kuzbanian homolog
