The monoclonal antibody of this name (Morimoto et al, 1989) recognizes a cell surface protein expressed on CD4(+) T-cells (62 %) and CD8(+) T-cells (54 %). The antigen is expressed widely among lymphoid celkls but preferentially on T helper cells and is related to the TA1 antigen, which has been shown to be identical with CD26.
de Meester et al (1993) have demonstrated direct binding of the 1F7 monoclonal antibody to purified DPP4 [dipeptidyl peptidase 4], which is CD26.
